About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Retail Operations, this role combines interior styling, relationship building and retail sales. You'll work closely with clients both in-store and through our Interior Styling Service, helping them bring their vision to life through furniture, artwork, lighting and homewares.

From walk-in showroom consultations to in-home and virtual styling appointments, you'll create tailored recommendations, mood boards and product selections that inspire confidence and deliver beautiful outcomes. You'll manage projects from initial consultation through to installation, building lasting relationships and delivering an exceptional customer experience at every touchpoint.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who loves interiors, thrives on connecting with people and enjoys the excitement of turning inspiration into sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct residential styling consultations in-home, virtually and in-store.
  • Present mood boards, styling concepts, product schedules, quotations and decorating advice.
  • Manage styling projects from initial consultation through to booking, delivery and installation.
  • Build strong client relationships and provide exceptional customer service throughout the customer journey.
  • Drive sales across furniture, artwork, lighting and homewares while achieving individual and team sales targets.
  • Process sales and pre-orders, managing client communication and administration through internal systems.
  • Create an inspiring and welcoming showroom experience, assisting customers with styling advice and product selection.
  • Respond to customer enquiries and styling bookings via phone, email and customer care channels.
  • Assist with the growth and promotion of the Fenton & Fenton Interior Styling Service through events, client outreach and marketing initiatives.
  • Identify new business opportunities and nurture long-term client relationships.

Skills and Attributes

  • An exceptional eye for design with a strong aesthetic, detail focused and be highly organised to work in a fast-paced creative environment.
  • The ability to think on your feet, respond to client’s desires and design challenges and bring a resolved interior solution to the table.
  • An enthusiastic, proactive and results driven approach
  • Ability to sell premium products and artwork/
  • Ability to act on new opportunities and juggle a busy workload.
  • Proficiency in multiple systems and platforms
  • Excellent face-to-face and relationship building, communication and presentation skills.
  • A self-motivated, proactive and confident approach to selling and building relationships over time.
  • Passion and knowledge of designer furniture, artwork, fabrication and specification, floorplans and associated fit out products.
  • High energy level and enthusiasm
  • Exceptional organisational skills and focus, including a capacity to effectively prioritise tasks and manage time in accordance with strict deadlines, with meticulous attention to detail.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Interior Design qualification with experience as a mid-weight Interior Decorator/Stylist
  • Proven design skills and residential design experience essential
  • Retail experience preferable, with experience working with point of sale systems, inventory management and virtual meetings.
  • Proficiency working with Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, or ArchiCAD, Canva and the creation of moodboards and schedules.
