Senior / Principal Systems Engineer

Overview

We are currently recruiting Systems Engineers with extensive MBSE experience to support major Defence, based in Canberra. The positions are aimed at Senior or Principal-level engineers who enjoy solving complex, working closely with clients, and influencing real-world capability outcomes.

Applicants must have current NV1 clearance.

Location- Canberra, ACT

Duration- Permanent, Full-time, Monday-Friday

Salary- $150,000 - $200,000 + Super

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with clients and internal teams to deliver systems engineering solutions across complex projects
• Apply systems engineering principles and modelling approaches, including the use of MBSE tools, to support concept development and capability delivery
• Contribute to the development of system architectures, requirements, and analytical outputs
• Engage with stakeholders to understand needs and support delivery of practical, fit-for-purpose solutions
• Support technical workshops, design reviews, and key project deliverables
• Communicate technical outcomes clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team

Required Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Systems Engineering experience within Defence environment
• Exposure to MBSE / digital engineering approaches and relevant toolsets such as SysML, CATIA (Cameo), Enterprise Architect or Capella, etc…
• Experince using DOORS Classic or NG
• NV1 Clearance
• Solid understanding of INCOSE Systems Engineering principles.
• Further qualifications such as CPEng, INCOSE ASEP/CSEP is desirable but not required
