Senior Digital Project Manager

Purpose
Lead the successful delivery of Digital Garden's portfolio of website and digital projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard while maintaining strong client relationships and supporting internal team performance.

Key responsibilities
Project delivery
- Manage multiple concurrent digital projects from discovery through to launch.
- Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, timelines and forecasts.
- Monitor project health, risks, dependencies and resource requirements.
- Manage scope, functional requirements gathering and change requests.
- Ensure project profitability and commercial performance.
Stakeholder management
- Act as the primary delivery contact for clients.
- Facilitate workshops, project meetings and status updates.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve issues proactively.
- Prepare project reports and executive updates.
Team coordination
- Coordinate designers, developers, content specialists and external partners.
- Work closely with Digital Garden's leadership team to prioritise work and manage resourcing.
- Drive accountability across project teams.
- Support continuous improvement of delivery processes.
Quality & governance
- Ensure projects meet accessibility, security and quality standards.
- Oversee testing, UAT and launch activities.
- Maintain project documentation and reporting.
Essential experience
- 5+ years' experience delivering digital, website or technology projects.
- Previous experience in a digital agency or consultancy environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities.
- Strong commercial and budget management experience.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience facilitating workshops and discovery activities.
- Experience using Jira and modern project management tools.
- Strong understanding of website delivery lifecycles and CMS platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to improve productivity, streamline project management activities and enhance delivery outcomes.
Desirable
- Drupal or enterprise CMS experience.
- Government, higher education or not-for-profit experience.
- Knowledge of accessibility and digital best practice.
- Experience managing support and maintenance programs.
Work arrangement
This is a hybrid role based in Sydney, offering a balance of collaboration and flexibility. Team members are expected to work from our Sydney office two days per week and may work remotely up to three days per week.
Applicants should be comfortable working independently in a remote environment while also contributing to in-person workshops, team planning sessions and client meetings when required.
Eligibility requirements
Australian citizenship is required, as we work on government projects requiring security clearance.
