Founding Marketer & Head of Growth: Tell the Story of Australian Construction's Next Chapter
Australian construction loses ~$40 billion a year to rework. Engineers still scroll through PDFs of AS 3500 and the NCC the way they did 20 years ago. Builders still find compliance issues on site that started life in a consulting office weeks earlier. The industry knows it — nobody's properly fixed it.

I'm Ronak — an Adelaide-based engineer with 4 years in hydraulic and mechanical services. I've lived this frustration. I'm building the solution I always wanted as an engineer, with a technical co-founder already in place and an MVP coming together. We're now looking for the person who'll own how Helix reaches the people it's built for.
What We're Building
ASK: A plain-English Q&A engine grounded in AS/NZS and the NCC, with exact page citations.
DESIGN: An automation engine that generates code-compliant MEP layouts from architectural plans.
VALIDATE: A risk-shield that audits designs against current standards before submission.
We're not building this for hydraulic engineers alone. Helix is for the whole chain — consulting engineering firms, builders, contractors, plumbers, certifiers, project managers. Every person whose week is shaped by compliance, rework, and the gap between drawing and ground.
Who You Are
We're looking for a Founding Marketer & Head of Growth to lead how Helix shows up in the world and earns trust across an industry that's seen plenty of tech promises and not enough delivered.
Mindset: You're moved by real problems in real industries, not chasing whichever vertical is trendy.
Experience: Construction, engineering, trades, or any industry where the buyer is sceptical, technical, and time-poor.
Voice: You can write content that engineers, builders, and MDs actually respect — because it's true, specific, and respects their time.
Range: You can shape positioning, run a LinkedIn channel, build industry relationships, set up the basics, and help close first pilots — without waiting for a team.
Commitment: You're ready to step into a founding role as a true partner.
Bonus if you've worked in or around Startup marketing or founding GTM — ideally pre-seed or seed, ideally B2B technical.

Domain expertise: built by a founder who lives the pain daily.
Technical co-founder in place: AI/ML pipeline already being built.
Validation: engineers have tested the product. 94% citation accuracy across AS 3500 and the NCC.
Industry relationships: early conversations running with consulting firms, builders, and contractors.
The Honest Part
This is an equity-based role. No cash until we close our first round — but real ownership, real partnership, and the kind of founding seat that doesn't come along often.
Part-time, on-the-side, or whenever-suits-you contributions are genuinely welcome. What matters is the conviction, the work, and the fit — not how many hours a week you can give.
Not the right fit for anyone whose strength is paid acquisition, or whose only experience is consumer or top-of-funnel.
