About the role

We are currently recruiting for a Finance Analyst to support our Intensive Operations.

This role plays a key role in supporting operational efficiency and continuous improvement within a complex, large-scale agricultural supply chain environment. The position requires specialist analytical capability, industry knowledge, and financial acumen to support decision-making across feedlot and intensive production operations.

This position is suited to candidates with post-graduate experience in agriculture, agribusiness, finance, or a related discipline, offering hands-on exposure to data analysis, financial insights, project coordination, systems support, and operational reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Improvement Initiatives

  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and support implementation of process improvements across operational workflows
  • Identify inefficiencies and recommend practical, data-driven solutions to improve operational performance
  • Participate in cross-functional projects across Intensive Operations, delivering high-quality outcomes within defined timeframes
  • Build effective relationships across departments to support operational alignment and collaboration

Commodity & Logistics Coordination

  • Coordinate commodity and logistics activities, including management of feedstock movement into feedlots, stock tracking, and inventory management
  • Oversee associated documentation, including invoices and contract-related records
  • Liaise with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services

Project Coordination

  • Support the planning and delivery of projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time and within scope
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to manage progress, mitigate risks, and provide regular updates and reporting

Reporting, Data Analysis and Insights

  • Analyse operational, production, and financial data to identify trends, variances, and performance improvement opportunities
  • Develop and deliver accurate and timely reports, dashboards, and insights to support operational and financial decision-making
  • Maintain data integrity and produce regular and ad hoc reporting aligned to business requirements

Operational Support During High-Pressure Periods

  • Provide hands-on support to Operations teams during peak production periods
  • Demonstrate the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities within a dynamic operational environment

Systems Support (Stock Management Systems)

  • Utilise and support systems including Stockaid FY3000, Feedbunk, and Stockmate
  • Provide user support, troubleshooting, and training to ensure effective system usage
  • Monitor and maintain system accuracy to support operational and financial reporting

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Business, Finance, Agribusiness, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 1–2 years’ relevant experience in agriculture, agribusiness, or intensive livestock operations, including direct exposure to cattle operations
  • Demonstrated experience applying strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills in a commercial or operational environment
  • Experience in data analysis, financial reporting, or operational performance analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in project coordination and delivery
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data or reporting systems
  • Experience working with operational or ERP systems (feedlot or livestock systems highly regarded)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present insights to stakeholders
  • Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and influence outcomes
  • Ability to operate effectively in environments with complex supply chains and competing priorities

Highly Regarded

  • Sound understanding of animal husbandry practices
  • Knowledge of commodity storage, feedmill operations, and feedlot environments
  • Previous experience working in feedlots or intensive livestock production systems
