Band 8 Salary Range: $125,281.66 - $139,573.61 plus 12% superannuation

About The Role

Latrobe City Council delivers both long day care and preschool services across the municipality, which includes 3 Early Learning Centres and 25 Preschools.

As the Coordinator Early Learning & Care, you will lead and oversee the delivery of high-quality, responsive early learning and care services across the municipality. Reporting to the Manager Family Services you will be responsible for ensuring programs meet community needs, legislative requirements, and contractual obligations.

This role provides strategic and operational leadership to a multidisciplinary team, managing service delivery, budgets, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will play a key role in shaping the future direction of Early Learning and Care services, identifying opportunities for service growth, enhancing utilisation, and strengthening outcomes for children and families.

Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies and community organisations, you will ensure integrated service delivery and contribute to broader Family Services objectives.

About You

You are a collaborative and experienced leader with a strong background in early learning and care services. You bring a sound understanding of legislative frameworks, service delivery models, and the diverse needs of children and families.

You are confident in managing teams, budgets, and complex service environments, with the ability to make informed decisions, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement. Your communication and stakeholder engagement skills enable you to build strong partnerships and influence positive outcomes.

You will also have

  • Tertiary qualifications in Early Childhood, Education, Community Services or a related discipline (or lesser qualifications with extensive relevant experience)
  • Experience in policy development, service planning, and program delivery
  • Highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement, and report writing skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant information systems
