Our client is a well established and diversified private property developer with a strong track record of delivering large scale projects across Australia. Due to continued growth and a significant project pipeline, they are seeking an experienced Development Manager to join their Sydney team.

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of two major industrial projects in Sydney with a combined project value of approximately $500 million.

The Role

Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for the delivery of two key development projects, overseeing complex civil and infrastructure packages from planning through to completion. You will work closely with contractors, consultants, authorities, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and commercially.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the delivery of major earthworks, civil, and infrastructure packages.
  • Coordinating consultants, contractors, and service authorities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Overseeing environmental, stormwater, utility, and services infrastructure requirements.
  • Driving project programmes, budgets, risk management, and reporting.
  • Identifying value engineering opportunities and challenging designs to optimise project outcomes.
  • Managing authority approvals and stakeholder engagement to facilitate successful project delivery.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered in line with commercial, quality, and compliance objectives.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering large scale land development, subdivision, civil, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of civil construction, earthworks, utilities, stormwater, and associated infrastructure.
  • Proven end to end project management experience.
  • A track record of successfully managing civil contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify cost saving opportunities and drive value outcomes.
  • Experience working with government authorities, service providers, and approval bodies to achieve project objectives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
