Senior Associate - Construction/Renewable Energy

Wolf & Williams

Our client is an international law firm with a strong Australian presence.

The Opportunity

Due to sustained growth across their energy and construction practice, they are seeking a Senior Associate to work most closely with a Construction & Projects partner with a focus on energy projects.

Clients involve a mixture of developers and contractors with a strong focus on renewable energy projects with respect to wind farms, solar farms, battery storage and related infrastructure.

This role will see you come in as 2IC to the partner and day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Advising on a broad range of construction and renewable projects, including project delivery, contract drafting and negotiation, risk allocation, and claims management.
  • Draft and negotiate key project documentation including EPC, D&C, O&M, consultancy, and supply agreements.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on project risks, dispute avoidance, and regulatory issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Ideal Candidate

  • 6+ years’ PQE gained in construction, projects or energy projects team, ideally from a leading law firm or in house team.
  • Energy experience is not a pre-requisite, rather highly desirable. A genuine interest in focussing on the renewable energy sector is essential.
  • Proven ability to manage complex transactions and client relationships autonomously.
  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and motivated to contribute to a growing practice.
