The Role
This is an opportunity to join a well-established Brisbane specialist firm with a strong reputation across property and commercial law. The firm has attracted lawyers from leading national and top-tier practices and combines the quality of work and sophistication of larger firms with the accessibility and collegiate culture of a specialist practice. Full-time and four-day week arrangements are available.
Working closely with an experienced Director, you will step into a genuine Senior Associate-level position from day one. Unlike many larger firms where progression can be tied to lengthy promotion cycles and complex structures, this role offers immediate responsibility, significant autonomy and the opportunity to build strong client relationships while playing an active role in the growth of the practice.
Your work will include:
- Acquisitions and disposals of commercial, retail, industrial and rural properties
- Commercial, retail and industrial leasing
- Property development and joint venture agreements
- Due diligence and strategic acquisition advice
- Revenue advice relating to property transactions
- Commercial agreements, asset structures and leasing arrangements
- Residential conveyancing support where required
- Delivering practical, commercially focused advice tailored to client needs
- Supporting and mentoring junior lawyers within the team.
Supportive Leadership & Mentoring
Senior lawyers work closely with the firm's leadership team and are encouraged to contribute to client development initiatives and the ongoing growth of the practice. The structure provides the autonomy to manage matters and client relationships while still offering access to experienced mentors for technical guidance and strategic support.
Candidate Requirements
To be considered, you will ideally have:
- Approximately 5+ years post-admission experience in property and commercial law
- Experience across acquisitions, disposals, leasing and development matters
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and commercial advisory skills
- Strong client relationship and matter management capabilities
- Commercial acumen and a practical, solutions-focused approach
- The confidence to manage matters autonomously and supervise junior lawyers.
Exceptional candidates with slightly less experience who can demonstrate the required capability are also encouraged to apply.
The Process
Flexible interview options are available. You can opt for a one-on-one discussion or panel interview. Transparency is key, and you will receive a detailed PD for review after your meeting.
