About this exciting opportunity

As AIMS’ SeaSim Instrumentation Officer you will lead a small team and contribute to the delivery of the SeaSim instrumentation quality program. This role is responsible for the application and continuous improvement of Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) practices across the lifecycle of instrumentation systems along with the operational delivery and continuous improvement of instrumentation and control capabilities within the SeaSim Precinct through the application of technical expertise, effective maintenance practices, and accurate data management.

You will support daily operations, experimental instrumentation setup including commissioning, integration, and improvement of control systems. This role is required to participate in rostered and out of hours support and provide troubleshooting, resolving instrumentation faults and assisting with data analysis to support system and experimental performance.

About you

You will hold a formal qualification in Instrumentation, Control, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience, coupled with a Current Queensland Electrical Licence. You will bring demonstrated experience in the installation, maintenance, and calibration of instrumentation associated with control systems including a proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex faults in instrumentation, control systems, and associated electronic hardware.

Our ideal applicant will demonstrate practical experience in water treatment plant operations, including reverse osmosis (RO) systems and associated instrumentation, aquarium and water filtration systems along with knowledge of Industrial communications protocols such as, Profibus, Profinet and Modbus, including installation, maintenance, and diagnostics of networks.
