Primary objective

Provide high level coordination for the development and implementation of cyber resilience projects to support the delivery of

cyber security initiatives and improve cyber security awareness across the Northern Territory Government.

Context statement

The Department of Corporate and Digital Development manages digital systems on behalf of NT Government agencies. The

position operates within a team providing cyber resilience and awareness advice and support. The position is required to work in a

busy environment with involvement in sensitive issues.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Contribute to, support and manage a range of cyber security projects and administrative activities as part of a small team

implementing cyber security strategic priorities, including whole-of government projects.

2. Manage and deliver events and initiatives to support cyber security awareness, including coordination of a whole of government

awareness training program.

3. Prepare high level briefings, project documentation and reports to support cyber security governance arrangements.

4. Develop education and awareness material for a range of audiences and formats.

5. Manage and contribute to procurement activities to secure external training products and services.

6. Conduct research and provide analysis and interpretation of current issues and their trends relating to cyber security awareness

and education and provide advice on potential policy impacts.

7. Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects meet agency

strategic and operational needs.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated strong understanding and operational experience in project management and administration delivering multi-

faceted projects and working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.

2. Demonstrated high level analytical and communication skills with capacity to interpret and translate technical information into

plain English and prepare documentation for a range of audiences.

3. Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines, work

effectively in a pressured environment, and exercise initiative and flexibility.

4. Well-developed interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to maintain open and effective relationships

with a range of stakeholders and work collaboratively to achieve mutual outcomes.

5. Understanding of governance principles and administrative practices.

6. Proven ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion, and exercise sound judgment in dealing with complex

and sensitive matters.

Desirable

1. Formal Qualification (or working towards) in Information and Communications Technology, Business, Communications, Project

Management or other related discipline.

2. Knowledge and understanding of cyber security principles and industry best practice.
