Primary objective

Working with a high level of independence, provide strategic and operational leadership for the support, management and

administration of critical business systems, including oversight of system performance, integrations, and continuous improvement

to ensure reliable, secure and effective service delivery across Territory and national environments.

Context statement

Agency Business Systems manages agencies’ core business digital systems through their lifecycle from strategy to design,

development, release and deployment, operational delivery, maintenance, support and retirement.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Provide executive level project management, leadership and strategic policy advice on the definition, development,

implementation, management and support of digital business systems.

2. Represent the agency at a high level, provide strategic advice to clients on procedure, policy and problem management

associated with business systems.

3. Conduct detailed business analysis, identify efficiencies and make recommendations to continual business improvement

strategies.

4. Evaluate proposed technologies and collaborate with stakeholders to successfully implement the recommended technology

and business strategies.

5. Establish and maintain the appropriate development and governance structures and levels of stakeholder engagement.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated leadership, management and interpersonal communication experience with proven experience in implementing

and supporting business systems.

2. Proven experience and expert knowledge of project management and best practice to achieve effective and long lasting

outcomes.

3. Demonstrated high level knowledge of best practice business systems management methodologies and their practical utilisation

to deliver successful outcomes.

4. Expert understanding and experience in implementing change management principles and practices to address changing and

competing demands, directions and goals with a strategic focus.

5. Well organised, able to multi-task, manage competing priorities and guide a team through high demand periods, and proven

record of achieving milestones and results in agreed timeframes.

6. High level capability in business analysis, with proven experience in reviewing, designing, and optimising business processes

to improve efficiency, service delivery, and stakeholder outcomes.

7. The ability to interact affectively with people from diverse cultures.

8. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of Commitment to service, Innovation, Ethical practice,

Accountability, Impartiality, Diversity and Respect.

Desirable

1. Relevant qualification in Procurement, Business Management, Accounting or Information Technology.
