Are you an experienced Financial Accountant looking for a hands-on contract opportunity within a fast-paced and growing business? We are partnering with a well-established Australian retailer seeking additional support during a busy period, with a focus on reconciliations, audit support, process improvements, and month-end activities.

The Role
Reporting to the Financial Accounting & Tax Manager, this Financial Accountant position will provide critical support across reconciliations, audit requests, lease administration, and month-end activities. This is a hands-on role requiring strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with large volumes of data while identifying opportunities to improve existing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing EFT payments and managing store-level cash banking reconciliations
- Performing balance sheet and other key account reconciliations
- Supporting reconciliation improvement initiatives and process enhancements
- Creating, reviewing, and restructuring Excel-based reconciliations
- Assisting with lease administration and coordination of new lease agreements
- Supporting month-end reporting activities
- Responding to and managing audit requests
- Working with large data sets to identify discrepancies and improve reporting accuracy
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a Financial Accountant, Assistant Accountant, or similar finance role
- Strong reconciliation experience, including balance sheet reconciliations
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large data sets
- Experience supporting month-end processes and audit requirements
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements
- Experience within retail, FMCG, or a high-volume commercial environment will be highly regarded
- Available to commence at short notice
