Are you an experienced Wellbeing & Injury Management professional ready to step into a leadership role where you can make an immediate impact?

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and proactive Wellbeing & Injury Management Lead to join a highly respected organisation within the education sector. In this pivotal contract role, you will drive best-practice wellbeing strategies, oversee complex WorkCover and injury management processes, and lead a small, high-performing team.

The Opportunity

You will take ownership of the end-to-end wellbeing and injury management function, supporting a culture of zero harm and ensuring employees are supported to remain safe, healthy and engaged at work.

This is a hands-on leadership role combining strategy, case management, compliance and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the WorkCover function, including claims and reimbursements
  • Oversee injury management and Support at Work (SAW) programs
  • Act as the organisation's Return to Work (RTW) Coordinator
  • Provide expert advice to leaders and employees on wellbeing and injury management matters
  • Manage a team of 3, driving performance, capability and service delivery
  • Oversee complex and high-risk case management, ensuring compliant and timely outcomes
  • Develop and implement wellbeing policies, frameworks and improvement initiatives
  • Build effective relationships with insurers, regulators, medical providers and internal stakeholders
  • Deliver reporting and insights to inform decision-making and continuous improvement

About You

You are a confident and experienced practitioner who brings a strong balance of technical expertise and leadership capability. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are comfortable managing competing priorities.

You will bring

  • Certification as a Return to Work Coordinator (VWA approved)
  • Demonstrated experience in workers' compensation, injury management and RTW programs
  • Strong knowledge of WorkCover legislation and claims management
  • Proven ability to manage complex cases and influence positive outcomes
  • Experience leading and developing teams
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with sound judgement

Experience within large or complex organisations and exposure to wellbeing or mental health initiatives will be highly regarded.
