We are currently instructed on behalf of a leading international law firm to appoint an Associate to join its highly regarded Dispute Resolution practice in Sydney.

The Role and Team

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded disputes lawyer seeking exposure to sophisticated litigation and dispute resolution matters within a market-leading team. The practice acts for major domestic and international clients across a broad range of industries and is regularly engaged on complex, high-value and strategically significant disputes.

The team advises on a diverse range of matters, including commercial litigation, class actions, arbitration, regulatory and compliance investigations, corporate and shareholder disputes, insolvency and restructuring matters, competition and trade practices issues, administrative law proceedings, product liability claims, and cross-border disputes.

Working closely with a highly experienced group of partners and senior lawyers, the successful candidate will play an active role in all stages of matters, from strategy development and client management through to evidence preparation, interlocutory applications, hearings, mediations and settlement negotiations. The role offers significant responsibility, direct client exposure and the opportunity to work on matters that are often international in scope.

• 3–5 years' post-qualification experience gained within a reputable commercial litigation or dispute resolution practice

• Strong technical legal skills, including experience drafting pleadings, submissions, correspondence and other key litigation documents

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

• A commercial approach to legal practice and a genuine commitment to client service

• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment
