We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to drive the requirements definition and platform selection for a specialised Legal Case Management initiative.
As part of a broader enterprise case management strategy, this project focuses on a standalone, specialist legal platform necessitated by unique requirements around legal matter handling, privilege, and confidentiality.
While operating independently from core CRM platforms, this solution will maintain critical integration points with enterprise systems to ensure consistent reporting and data sharing across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
As the dedicated Business Analyst for this specialised workstream, your day-to-day will involve:
- Elicit, analyse, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements specific to legal case workflows, document handling, privilege, and case lifecycle management.
- Support the evaluation, definition, and design of a specialist legal case management solution that reflects the unique needs of legal operations.
- Define future-state legal case lifecycle processes, including intake, matter management, approvals, and closure, while documenting business rules and legal decision pathways.
- Capture requirements for robust integration between the Legal Case Management solution and enterprise platforms like Salesforce to maintain data visibility and consistency.
- Engage closely with Legal Services teams, SMEs, and broader business units through workshops to validate project direction and requirements.
- Ensure all requirements align with legislative, regulatory, and audit obligations while proactively managing risks related to confidentiality and data governance.
- Develop test scenarios and support SIT and UAT to validate that the final solution meets legal, operational, and compliance expectations.
Required Experience & Capabilities
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst within complex, highly regulated corporate or public sector environments.
- Direct experience working on legal, compliance, or specialist case management systems.
- A strong understanding of governance, legal privilege, confidentiality, and regulatory data handling requirements.
- Top-tier analytical and documentation capabilities, including the creation of detailed BRDs, user stories, and traceability matrices.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with legal professionals and technical teams.
Desirable Criteria
- Previous hands-on experience with dedicated legal case management platforms.
- Experience within government or regulatory environments.
- Background working on integration-heavy or multi-system solutions, specifically aligning specialist systems into a broader enterprise architecture.
