Our teams deliver physical and mental health programs across Western Australia. We are also the lead agency for three headspace centres along the beautiful coastline south of Perth in Fremantle, Rockingham and Mandurah. O ur dynamic team at headspace Fremantle is currently seeking a Senior Access Clinician to join our clinical team in providing person-centered wholistic mental health care and support to young people 12-25 years of age.
This is an exciting part time (4 days per week) opportunity for a skilled and experienced mental health clinician to combine frontline mental health support to young people with making a valuable contribution to the well-being and development of the team. Working closely and collaboratively under the direction of the Clinical Lead, you'll be one of the initial points for clinical contact with the service, be responsible for the allocation of referrals, and be a source of clinical guidance and support to the team. Using your clinical experience, you'll provide input to service quality improvements and be proactive in engaging stakeholders and participating in community awareness activities.
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in direct service provision to young people and their families including psychosocial assessment, counselling and clinical interventions in individual and group settings, and multi-disciplinary referral pathways.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of effective principles of developmentally appropriate engagement and the issues and factors that influence mental health and well-being for young people.
- Skilled in creating an environment that actively encourages young people to participate in decisions relating to their own care.
- Have high level communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities including self-motivation, initiative, problem solving and skills in mentoring and leadership within a team environment.
- Hold a tertiary qualification in psychology, social work, nursing or occupational therapy and registration or membership with (or eligibility for) either AHPRA or AASW.
- Hold a current WA Working With Children Check and a National Police Certificate dated within 6 months (or be willing to obtain).
- Current Western Australian driver's licence and road worthy vehicle (required for community outreach activities).
