About the role
Campbelltown City Council is a rapidly expanding area due to its population growth, new developments, and strategic location near the new Western Sydney Airport. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Asset Management Engineer - Lighting. In this role, you will be responsible for utilising technical knowledge and expertise to develop, design and implement customer-focused solutions for Council’s electrical lighting assets.
Key Duties include but are not limited to:
- Develop Asset Management plans for lighting assets as part of the overall Asset Class Plans.
- Plan and organise condition assessments of lighting assets including evaluation of information and identification of any gaps and implement improvements to ensure that condition assessment plans are updated and followed
- Determine the specifications to enable the establishment of a maintenance contract for ongoing inspections/scheduled and reactive maintenance and reporting.
- Manage the transfer of Council-owned street lighting assets to local electrical utility provider by working closely with them to define the required scope of works, documentation and asset upgrades, enabling them to assume ownership and ongoing management of these assets.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes:
- Tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing outdoor lighting assets.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the installation, operation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of electrical outdoor lighting systems
- Demonstrated working knowledge of legislative requirements, electrical regulations, compliance and AS/NZS 1158 series and environmental protection
- Demonstrated working knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 for design, construction and verification of electrical installations.
- Sound computer skills in relation to data collection, manipulation and data presentation using packages such as Excel, Access, Word, Microsoft Project, Asset Management Systems -Conquest.
- Current Class C Drivers' licence.
- Highly developed interpersonal and negotiating skills with ability to communicate and work collaboratively with different stakeholders including professionals, industry, community, agencies and government groups.
- Working knowledge of, and demonstrated commitment to, Work Health & Safety.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, Australian Standards, IPWEA practice notes and Building codes in relation to asset inspection and investigation.
