Gold Coast Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in acute surgical nursing to join our General Surgery Ward on a part-time basis.

This role is best suited to a clinician who is confident managing post-operative surgical patients and thrives in a fast-paced acute care environment. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care as part of a collaborative and supportive multidisciplinary team.

Established in 2016, Gold Coast Private Hospital is a modern, 339-bed facility located in Southport’s Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct.

With 22 operating theatres, the hospital supports a broad range of specialties including General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, Cardiac Care, Oncology and more. We are committed to clinical excellence and ongoing professional development.

As a Registered Nurse within our General Surgery Ward, you will:

Deliver safe, evidence-based care to post-operative and acute surgical patients

Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Provide education and support throughout recovery and rehabilitation

Supervise and support junior staff

Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Essential Criteria

Authority to Work in Australia

Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute surgical ward (essential)

Demonstrated experience caring for post-operative surgical patients

Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent

Current unrestricted AHPRA registration

Knowledge of ACQSHC National Standards

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in an acute hospital setting

Please note: This role is not suitable for new graduates or candidates without recent acute surgical nursing experience.
