About the role

Reporting to Commercial Operations Manager, the Commercial Lead - Energy, holds a pivotal role in evaluating and shaping the growth and investment framework, translating complex data, market dynamics, and segment the digital/AI opportunities across WesCEF.

This is a highly influential role that will act as a trusted advisor to our senior leadership team and key stakeholders. Pivotal to this role is your hands-on experience in uplifting commercial capability across the business, setting standards for modelling, insights and governance; whilst providing clear recommendations to support strategic investment decisions across the group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, influence and prioritise growth opportunities which can include new market products, energy solutions, and establishing strategic partnerships to deliver growth outcomes.
  • Shape market strategies, pricing structures and customer value propositions for new and existing market segments.
  • Lead structuring of installer and supplier agreements within the platform and evaluating ongoing investment decisions for Kleenheat Spark.
  • Develop complex financial models, forecast and valuation frameworks to support major investment decisions that lead to measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Act as trusted advisor to senior leaders in influencing strategic direction on key business and customer investments, including emerging commercial risks and potential mitigants.
  • Communicate complex insights and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear, concise and commercially compelling way.
  • Key presentative in delivering commercial strategies to the senior leadership team and key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate visible HSE leadership and champion a positive HSE culture.

About You

  • Degree qualification in Business, Commerce, Economics, Finance or similar with a history of experience in a similar Commercial Lead role influencing energy, resource and/or utilities market sectors.
  • Competent in developing and delivering complex commercial models and analysis ((business cases, ROI, scenario analysis).
  • Experienced working with large data, dashboards, and analytics tools such as Power BI.
  • Experienced in strategizing new market segment, business ventures, and/or growth initiatives from concept through to execution.
  • Strong collaboration, influential and communication skills with confidence in pivoting your style to address various stakeholders whilst in achieving key outcomes.
  • Worked with external markets and investors to deliver commercial and business outcomes.
  • Demonstrate experience in driving positive change whilst setting robust frameworks and commercial governance.
  • Resilient in operating within ambiguous, fast‑moving evolving environments.
  • Some business travel locally and internationally maybe required.
