About The Role
The ER/IR Business Partner provides expert employment relations advice to leaders and employees while supporting the broader Business Partner team. The role focuses on managing employment risks and enabling informed decision-making through strong knowledge of legislation, governance, and complex people matters. It works closely with People Leaders, Business Partners, and Governance & Legal teams to ensure all employee and volunteer matters are handled consistently, fairly, and in compliance with legal requirements.

In This Role You Will
- Act as a subject matter expert in Employee & Industrial Relations, providing strategic advice across the organisation
- Lead and manage complex employee matters (misconduct, performance, investigations, disciplinary actions) and Fair Work cases
- Interpret and ensure compliance with employment legislation, awards, agreements, and governance frameworks
- Represent the organisation in industrial matters, disputes, and external proceedings while mitigating risk
- Drive continuous improvement through IR projects, trend analysis, and partnership with Governance & Legal (including volunteer matters)
Here’s What We’re Looking For
- Strong expertise in employment legislation, including the Fair Work Act and modern awards
- Proven ability to provide clear, confident, and practical ER/IR advice
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, sensitive, and high-risk employee relations matters
- Effective in partnering with senior leaders and influencing decision-making
- Solid understanding of governance, risk, and compliance environments, with exposure to not-for-profit or volunteer-based organisations desirable
