We are looking for an experienced Power BI Consultant to join our growing Data and Analytics practice. This role will work closely with business stakeholders, data teams, and technology partners to deliver high-quality reporting and dashboard solutions that enable informed business decision-making within a large enterprise banking environment.

This role is focused on

  • Developing, enhancing, and maintaining Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Designing intuitive wireframes and dashboard layouts that effectively communicate business insights.
  • Building complex calculations, measures, and business logic using DAX.
  • Developing robust data transformation processes using Power Query.
  • Designing dashboards that support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Migrating existing Power BI reports to new data sources and environments.
  • Analysing existing reporting solutions and providing estimates for enhancements and new report development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy enterprise-grade Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Create and maintain semantic data models and reporting datasets.
  • Develop advanced DAX calculations and performance-optimised reporting solutions.
  • Perform data extraction, transformation, and modelling activities using Power Query.
  • Support the migration and modernisation of existing reporting assets.
  • Work closely with data engineering teams to source and validate reporting data.
  • Conduct impact assessments and provide effort estimates for reporting initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot report performance issues and implement improvements.
  • Maintain reporting standards, governance, and best practices.

What We're Looking For

Core Skills and Experience

  • Solid experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualisations.
  • Strong knowledge of DAX and advanced Power BI development techniques.
  • Strong expertise in Power Query.
  • Strong Snowflake SQL skills.
  • Understanding of dimensional modelling, star schemas, and building optimised data relationships.
  • Experience migrating Power BI reports to new data sources and environments.
  • Experience analysing existing reports and providing development estimates.
  • Experience building reporting solutions using multiple heterogeneous data sources.
  • Knowledge of integrating Power BI with Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and other business tools.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into actionable reporting solutions.

Desirable

  • Banking or Financial Services industry experience.
  • Experience working within enterprise-scale data and analytics environments.
