Here’s what you’ll be up to…

This is a full-time, temporary role working 35 hours per week until December 2026.

As a Procurement Business Partner, you will play a key role in supporting best-practice procurement and contract management across Council. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will provide trusted advice, guide tendering and quotation processes, and help ensure strong governance, probity and compliance at every stage. Our Procurement team partners with a diverse range of stakeholders across Council, supporting initiatives from ICT projects through to major construction works. In this role, you will contribute to important projects that deliver lasting community outcomes, while working alongside stakeholders throughout the full procurement lifecycle, from sourcing through to contract management. You will provide expert guidance, promote compliance with procurement policies and procedures, and help maintain robust governance and probity across all procurement activities.

Who we are (And why you’ll love us)

We are committed to achieving best value outcomes while ensuring our procurement practices are fair, compliant, and aligned with Local Government requirements. We also value strong relationships across Council and work closely with a wide range of business units to achieve successful outcomes.

We support wellbeing and balance by fostering a supportive and respectful team environment where people are encouraged to communicate openly, help one another, and work together toward shared goals. We understand the importance of balancing high-quality service delivery with a positive and sustainable team culture.

In recent times, the team has worked collaboratively across Council to deliver procurement and contract support for a wide range of exciting projects, including:

  • Gipps Street Recreation Precinct
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • St Marys Central Park, featuring an entertainment area, fenced children’s play space with water play, lawn area, amenities building, water features, gardens, and seating areas
  • Cook Park Precinct sporting and mixed recreation facility

  • Traffic Management Panel
  • Castlereagh RFS Design Consultant

These projects are just a small example of the diverse and rewarding work our team is involved in.

We foster connection and celebrate success by working closely as a team, recognising the contribution each person makes, and taking pride in the collective outcomes we deliver for Council and the community. Collaboration is central to how we work, and we value people who bring a positive and team-oriented approach.

The type of person who thrives in our team is someone who is organised, honest, collaborative, and community-minded, with a strong understanding of procurement and contracting in a Local Government environment. If you enjoy working as part of a team, building strong relationships, and contributing to outcomes that make a difference, you will fit right in.
