We are seeking an experienced candidate who is a technically strong and proactive mining professional, excels in short-term planning, scheduling, and drill and blast designs within a fast-paced, ramp-up environment. They are detail-oriented, data-driven, and proficient in mining software, ensuring accurate plans, effective designs, and continuous improvement, with a strong commitment to safety embedded in all aspects of their work.
They are also a collaborative and adaptable team player, working closely with operations to ensure plans are executed safely and efficiently. With clear communication skills and a willingness to contribute to both daily activities and longer-term planning, they support Fenix’s growth toward a sustainable 10Mtpa operation while maintaining a strong safety-first culture.
About the Role
Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, you will:
- Provide detailed daily and weekly mine planning and scheduling while contributing towards the monthly mine plan.
- Completing drill and blast designs, mine design pit changes, dumps, ramps and other designs in as required.
- Mine plan compliance monitoring and production reporting.
- Preparing and/or reviewing drill and blast design plans & monitoring, QAQC.
- Providing engineering services to other stakeholders, as required.
- Contributing to the development of long term mine plans.
- Working closely with supervisors and operations superintendents to monitor execution of plans.
- Project work, as required.
What You Bring
- Previous experience in scheduling, planning and/or drill and blast designing within a similar position in the mining industry.
- High level of computer literacy and experience in CAD Mining Software (Deswik, Surpac or Vulcan) and Mine Planning Software (Alastri, Xecute etc) is highly desirable.
- Valid C-class Manual Driving Licence.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering, Surveying or equivalent.
