Operations Support Specialist

Reporting to the DC Manager, this role will provide short-term operational support across the Sydney Distribution Centre, with a priority focus on inbound, inventory and agreed project work.

This role supports operational stability, process discipline, daily execution and cross-functional issue resolution while the permanent structure is finalised.

The role is temporary and does not replace the current leadership structure. It supports existing leaders without bypassing reporting lines, approved governance or established approval

Key Responsibilities

Operational Support

  • Provide hands-on support across all operations areas and assist leaders with workload, execution, and issue resolution
  • Maintain cross-functional flow while respecting existing reporting lines and decision authority

Inbound Support

  • Support receiving, putaway, dock activity, labour gaps, and manage delays and stock movements
  • Identify inbound bottlenecks and propose improvements for approval

Inventory Support

  • Assist with stock accuracy, investigations, replenishment, and cycle count routines
  • Support root cause analysis and ensure adherence to WMS processes and inventory controls

Project Work

  • Coordinate warehouse projects (moves, relocations, process improvements) within agreed scope
  • Track progress, risks, and ensure work is completed safely without disrupting operations

Process Discipline & Handover

  • Identify process gaps, document issues, and recommend improvements without implementing changes independently
  • Support knowledge transfer and transition to the future operational structure

Communication, Safety & Compliance

  • Align with stakeholders and communicate risks, delays, and updates clearly and promptly
  • Promote safety standards and escalate hazards to ensure compliance and operational integrity

More about you

  • Experience in warehouse operations with strong knowledge of inventory processes and WMS/RF systems

  • Ability to support fast-paced operations, coordinate tasks, and resolve issues across teams

  • Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and commitment to workplace safety

  • Experience in leadership, coordination, or operational support roles, with exposure to warehouse projects or process improvements

  • Proficiency in reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, WMS) and forklift licence (LF/LO) or MHE knowledge
