What You’ll Be Doing
We’re seeking a high-calibre commercial leader with the presence, professionalism, and strategic capability to influence senior stakeholders and drive national growth. This role combines national account leadership with sector-based business development across the Commercial Repaint & Remedial market, operating as a trusted advisor while shaping strategy and delivering commercially disciplined execution.
You will lead a priority national account, build relationships with senior stakeholders (including asset owners, property managers, consultants, and industry influencers), and influence a broad internal network across Sales, Marketing, Technical, Supply, Finance, and Customer Service. This role suits a commercially astute professional who thrives in complex environments, demonstrates strong judgement and credibility, and is motivated to shape strategy and deliver sustained growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the national strategy for a priority commercial account aligned to growth opportunities and market dynamics
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships externally, while connecting internal senior leaders to strengthen strategic alignment and customer engagement
- Provide leadership across a cross-functional stakeholder group, driving alignment, accountability and execution through influence
- Identify, prioritise and convert sector-based growth opportunities across key commercial repaint and remedial segments
- Develop and maintain a high-quality national pipeline of multi-state and multi-site opportunities to increase specification influence and conversion
- Partner with state trade teams to activate local execution and strengthen account penetration and customer retention
- Maintain strong commercial governance across pricing, trading terms, reporting, rebate management and expense control
- Leverage CRM and specification tools to manage opportunities through to completion with clear visibility of actions, risks and performance
- Communicate strategy, pipeline health and performance effectively across all levels of the business

What We’re Looking for
- 10+ years’ experience in trade or specification-related sales, with tertiary qualifications desirable but not essential, supported by a degree or equivalent practical experience
- Proven success in senior national account management and/or strategic business development within commercial or specification-led environments
- Strong ability to influence, negotiate, and build credibility with senior stakeholders across complex customer and internal landscapes, with executive-level communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated strategic account leadership capability, including identifying, prioritising, and converting high-value growth opportunities
- Well-developed commercial acumen, covering planning, forecasting, financial management, and a disciplined, data-driven approach using CRM systems and Microsoft Office
- Industry experience in building, coatings, construction, or property sectors highly regarded
