Canteen is all about supporting young people and their families affected by cancer. Founded by young cancer patients, we offer programs and resources that truly make a difference for 12-25 year-olds facing their own diagnosis, supporting a loved one, or grieving. We are now seeking a State Manager - VIC/TAS who will play a pivotal role in acquiring, growing and retaining one-off supporters.   • Base Salary + Superannuation + Not-For-Profit Salary Packaging (up to $18,550 of your salary tax-free).

About our role

  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team delivering clinical, psychosocial, and program support services across VIC/TAS, ensuring high-quality, consistent and best-practice service delivery
  • Oversee service planning, clinical governance, program delivery and risk management to meet organisational KPIs and evolving community needs
  • Build strong relationships with healthcare providers, community organisations and key stakeholders to strengthen referral pathways and service reach
  • Contribute to national strategy, projects and service innovation, ensuring alignment between state delivery and organisational priorities
  • Manage budgets, operational performance and team wellbeing, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in allied health (e.g. psychology, social work, counselling or occupational therapy) with extensive sector experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams and building a high-performance, values-driven culture
  • Strong expertise in clinical service delivery and psychosocial support for vulnerable young people and families
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strategic stakeholder relationships across health, community and government sectors
  • A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to lead, innovate and take on complex challenges
  • Warm, compassionate, and authentic approach to supporting young people and their families

Employment Expectations

To ensure an ongoing commitment to the success of Canteen, all applications must be able to:

  • Successfully complete and maintain a current National Police Check and Working with Child Check relevant to the individual’s state jurisdiction.
