Healthcare Systems Improvement Specialist
Churches of Christ
Healthcare Systems Improvement Specialist
- Kenmore Head Office
- 12-18 months, fixed term contract
- Free parking onsite & cafe.
Take your clinical or operational skills and help fix the systems behind them.
Are you a nurse, care coordinator, clinical professional or business analyst who is ever thought:
- Why do I have to document this in three different places?
- This system slows me down instead of helping me.
- There must be a better way to do this…
You are exactly who our team is looking for! This is your opportunity to step into a corporate role where you will reshape the systems that support care, rather than just working within them.
About the Role
This is not a typical IT role. It is a translator role, for someone who understands how care is delivered on the ground and can help turn that into systems and workflows that work.
As a Healthcare Systems Improvement Specialist, you will be the voice of clinical and operational teams, collaborating closely with staff and technology teams to improve how our systems support care delivery.
What You will be doing
You will spend your time bridging the gap between frontline teams and technology by:
- Collaborating directly with nurses, carers, and operational staff to understand what is working (and what’s not).
- Identifying pain points in clinical and care systems and finding better ways of working.
- Supporting and training staff on the systems they use every day.
- Translating real-world challenges into system improvements.
- Partnering with internal IT teams and vendors to enhance and optimise applications.
- Helping roll out system updates and ensuring they actually work in practice.
- Creating simple, practical guides and training that people actually use.
Why This Role is Different
This is a rare opportunity to transition into a systems and technology career without leaving the care sector.
- Move from delivering care to shaping how care is delivered.
- Influence outcomes across entire services, not just one shift or one team.
- Keep your purpose, while building a new career path in digital health and systems.
We are specifically looking for people who understands the work and we can teach the technology.
Who This Role Would Suit
- A nurse, clinical professional or practice lead who enjoys improving processes.
- A care coordinator or operational leader who is the “go-to” person for systems questions.
- A super-user of care or clinical systems (e.g. AutumnCare, MediSphere, Riskman or similar).
- A business analyst wanting to work closer to real-world care delivery.
- Someone ready to move from frontline or operational work into a corporate role.
What You will bring
We are more interested in mindset and experience than formal IT background:
- Strong understanding of aged care, healthcare, or community services environments.
- A natural problem-solver with curiosity and initiative.
- Confidence collaborating with people and explaining ideas clearly.
- An interest in improving systems, processes, and workflows.
- A willingness to learn technical systems and build new skills.
Possess or willingness to obtain
- Possess a current National Police Certificate – or the ability to acquire.
- Possess Working with Children (Blue Card) – or the ability to acquire.
- Possess Child Safety and Personal History Screening Check (LCS) – or the ability to acquire.
