Position Description
Role: Jira Administrator
Location: Perth, WA / Anywhere in Australia (Operating in AWST business hours)
Schedule: Full-Time
Reporting To: Project Management Office (PMO)
Key Responsibilities
Administration & Support
- Act as the primary point of contact for all Jira administration procedures and user support requests.
- Manage Jira access provisioning, licensing, and comprehensive user onboarding/offboarding procedures.
- Support the full lifecycle of Jira deployment, including implementation, system stabilization, daily administration, and structured handover processes.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to Jira performance and functionality.
Configuration & Customization
- Design, create, and maintain complex Jira workflows, screens, fields, and board configurations to optimize team productivity.
- Implement custom modifications and workflow changes in alignment with PMO standards and project requirements.
- Develop and maintain automated processes within Jira to streamline repetitive tasks and improve efficiency.
Security & Access Control
- Implement, manage, and audit Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to ensure appropriate permissions and security standards are enforced across all projects.
- Automate RBAC procedures where applicable to minimize manual overhead and mitigate security risks.
Reporting, Dashboarding & Data Quality
- Create, configure, and manage advanced dashboards, filters, and reports for various stakeholders, including the PMO and senior management.
- Monitor and enforce Jira data quality, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all projects and portfolios.
- Develop specialized tracking and reporting mechanisms tailored to project KPIs and governance requirements.
Integration & Documentation
- Monitor and manage Jira integrations, with a specific focus on Exalate, ensuring seamless data synchronization and issue tracking across platforms.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation regarding system configurations, workflows, admin procedures, and user guides.
Key Skills & Experience
- Extensive proven experience as a Jira Administrator in a complex enterprise environment.
- Deep technical expertise in configuring Jira workflows, custom screens, custom fields, permission schemes, and notification schemes.
- Strong background in RBAC setup, management, and automation within Atlassian products.
- Proven experience in maintaining Jira data quality, alongside advanced dashboarding and reporting skills using JQL.
- Familiarity with JIRA integrations, particularly Exalate.
- Hands-on experience integrating Jira with third-party tools, with specific mandatory experience in Exalate monitoring and administration.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications in Atlassian JIRA administration are preferred.
