Junior Graphic Designer

We are looking for a passionate, proactive, adaptable and creative Junior Graphic Designer join our Sydney Studio on a part time or full time basis.
As a Junior Graphic Designer, you will assist in providing day-to-day support in the production of marketing, sales and brand collateral, and from time to time branded environments projects. This role offers a valuable opportunity to learn across diverse design disciplines while developing core graphic design skills in a collaborative, supportive environment.
You’ll be joining an Architecture and Design practice with studios across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Operating as a national collective of design professionals, we draw on the knowledge and individual talents of our entire team. Whether it be our own studio culture or the impact our designs have on the wider community, inspiring ideas to enhance life experience is at the core of our practice.

- Collaborating with teams across the studios to understand graphic design requirements and interpret design briefs under the guidance of senior designers
- Creating design solutions across multiple programs - using text, symbols, pictures, colours and layout to deliver engaging brand collateral and digital assets
- Supporting the delivery of graphic design and branded environments projects from briefing through to completion, working collaboratively with architecture and interior teams
- Working within brand guidelines to ensure consistency and quality of design outputs across all deliverables
- Contributing creative ideas throughout the design process and assisting in preparing presentations and visual materials for clients
- At times you'll assist in the design and delivery of large format supergraphics, signage and wayfinding projects
- Producing high-quality communications collateral across print, web, display, social and digital media
- Supporting the production of bid materials and marketing collateral under senior team guidance
- Sharing ideas with team members, attending design reviews and learning best practices
- Supporting with sourcing quotes and liaising with suppliers and printers on production timelines and quality
- Maintaining accurate records of design jobs and assisting with file archiving to ensure work can be retrieved later
- Supporting the development and maintenance of design templates and libraries
- Staying informed of trends and best practices in graphic design through research and industry awareness
Ideally, you will have experience working as part of a team and covering a variety of activities in a positive and proactive manner.
Your Expertise and Attributes
- Recent graduate with a degree in Graphic Design or related field, or 0-2 years of design experience
- An interest in architecture, interior design or designing for the built environment
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite with specific emphasis on Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
- Knowledge of digital and video software such as WordPress
- Ability and desire to adapt and learn new software when required
- Strong Microsoft Office skills for administrative tasks
- Ability to manage your own weekly resourcing and come prepared to resourcing meetings
- Strong foundational understanding of design principles, typography and layout
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills with ability to manage priorities
- Strong communication skills and collaborative approach to teamwork
- Solution focused, with a demonstrated proactive and collaborative approach
- Ability to take initiative and balance multiple tasks at once
- Team focused, collaborative, respectful and patient
- Demonstrated passion for creativity and design
- Curiosity about design trends and willingness to learn and develop new skills
