General Manager Portfolio Delivery
Insignia Financial
- Lead integrated delivery across a complex Master Trust portfolio spanning major programs, BAU change and enterprise dependencies
- Take end-to-end accountability for sequencing, prioritisation, delivery risk and execution outcomes in a highly regulated environment
- Influence at executive level while staying close enough to the detail to challenge assumptions, vendors and delivery plans
- Location: Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, Brisbane
About The Role
As General Manager, Portfolio Delivery, you will be accountable for the integrated delivery of a complex Master Trust portfolio comprising multiple concurrent programs, business-led initiatives and critical enterprise dependencies. This role is responsible for bringing a whole-of-portfolio perspective to prioritisation, sequencing, governance and execution, ensuring interdependencies, SME constraints, delivery risks and customer impacts are actively managed.
Working in a federated delivery environment, you will lead through a small team and across senior stakeholders, while staying close enough to the detail to challenge scope, timing, vendor commitments and delivery assumptions. A key part of the role will be navigating major enterprise dependencies, including platform transformation activity, to maintain momentum and deliver business outcomes on time, on budget and to the required quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, setting clear direction, building capability and fostering accountability for enterprise-wide transformation outcomes.
- Own the Master Trust transformation and delivery agenda, shaping an integrated, prioritised roadmap aligned to business strategy, risk appetite and enterprise change priorities.
- Provide end-to-end leadership of the change portfolio, with accountability for the successful delivery of both strategic and business-led initiatives impacting Master Trust.
- Drive alignment across enterprise programs and business priorities, managing interdependencies, sequencing and delivery risks across core and other strategic initiatives.
- Provide executive oversight of major transformation initiatives, ensuring delivery of target-state outcomes across operating model, process, data, technology and service.
- Establish and embed fit-for-purpose governance, reporting and portfolio disciplines, ensuring transparent decision-making, performance insight and alignment with enterprise frameworks.
- Deliver value through transformation, prioritising initiatives that improve client, commercial and risk outcomes across employer, adviser and member value streams.
- Set the portfolio governance framework for Master Trust, ensuring strong alignment between business strategy, digital strategy and transformation execution.
- Act as a trusted enterprise leader and constructive challenger, influencing delivery teams, business leaders and strategic partners including SS&C to optimise scope, benefits, cost and execution outcomes.
- Lead the design and implementation of future-fit operating models, enabling business readiness, simplifying legacy complexity and supporting sustainable transformation outcomes.
- Champion a change-capable culture, strengthening leadership engagement, reducing change fatigue and embedding adoption of new processes, systems and ways of working.
What You Will Bring
- Extensive senior leadership experience leading large-scale transformation and delivery portfolios within superannuation, wealth management or other highly regulated financial services environments.
- Proven experience leading complex enterprise change in federated environments, bringing together multiple concurrent programs, business initiatives and BAU activity into a cohesive delivery agenda with clear ownership, sequencing and outcomes.
- Demonstrated success delivering multi-year transformation programs involving significant third-party, vendor and outsourcing dependencies, with the judgment and resilience to maintain business priorities and delivery discipline.
- Strong knowledge of Master Trust products, operating models and administration environments, including an understanding of regulatory obligations, risk frameworks and Trustee expectations.
- Proven ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels, translating enterprise priorities into practical delivery plans and remaining close enough to the detail to unblock issues, drive decisions and maintain momentum.
- Highly developed stakeholder leadership and influencing capability, with experience aligning senior executives, SMEs, delivery teams and external partners across competing priorities and perspectives.
- Strong governance, portfolio and decision-making capability, including experience establishing fit-for-purpose oversight, challenging scope and trade-off decisions, and driving accountability for benefits, cost, risk and timelines.
- Experience leading through small direct teams and broad enterprise influence, achieving outcomes through matrixed and federated functions rather than large standalone program structures.
- Commercially astute and outcome-oriented, with the ability to balance customer, financial, operational and risk considerations in a complex transformation setting.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, technology or a related discipline are preferred; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
