As a Group Underwriter you will provide quality underwriting services in line with TAL’s underwriting philosophy, standards and practices to maintain a profitable risk portfolio.

  • Deliver high-quality underwriting decisions that protect portfolio profitability and risk integrity
  • Uphold regulatory and internal risk standards to ensure compliant, customer-centric outcomes
  • Achieve underwriting targets while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and quality benchmarks
  • Build strong partnerships with funds and stakeholders to enable effective collaboration and outcomes
  • Resolve customer, partner, and adviser queries and escalations to timely, satisfactory outcomes
  • Drive a consistent, proactive customer experience by identifying issues and improving solution

Qualifications

  • Apply sound underwriting judgment within delegated authority, with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with stakeholders through clear and effective communication
  • Work independently with accountability while staying connected and contributing to team success
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail to deliver accurate, high-quality outcomes
  • Take a proactive, solutions-focused approach to challenges, with a positive and can-do mindset
  • Bring relevant qualifications or experience in life insurance (e.g. Certificate IV or equivalent), with Group Risk exposure a plus
