Are you an experienced plumber looking to get off the tools while still using your trade knowledge every day?

We are seeking a qualified plumber to join our team as a specialist Plumbing & Building Inspector. This is a unique opportunity to use your expertise identifying defects, leaks, and maintenance issues without the physical demands of construction work.

About the Role

This is an inspection and reporting position only.

You will conduct detailed plumbing building inspections for home buyers, property owners, and investors throughout Darwin and surrounding areas. Your role is to identify defects, assess plumbing systems, provide recommendations, and prepare professional inspection reports.

No installation work, maintenance work, or construction work required.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-purchase building and plumbing inspections
• Identify plumbing defects and maintenance issues
• Leak detection and fault diagnosis
• Roof plumbing inspections and defect reporting
• Assess stormwater and drainage issues
• Provide repair recommendations and maintenance advice
• Capture photos and document findings
• Prepare professional inspection reports using our inspection software
• Communicate findings clearly with clients

Essential Requirements

• Qualified and licensed plumber
• Must hold a valid NT plumbing licence
• Minimum 5 years industry experience
• Strong knowledge of residential plumbing systems
• Experience in leak detection and fault finding
• Experience in roof plumbing inspections and repairs
• Excellent attention to detail
• Professional communication skills
• Current driver’s licence
• Ability to work independently
• Must have Australian work rights

Highly Desirable

• Experience in wet area inspections
• Waterproofing knowledge
• Experience conducting flooded dye testing
• Building inspection experience
• Report writing experience
• Thermal camera or moisture meter experience
