Role Description

The S/4HANA Embedded PPM / SAP PS Consultant is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting SAP solutions for project portfolio management and project execution within SAP S/4HANA. The role focuses on enabling effective project planning, budgeting, execution, monitoring, and governance by leveraging Embedded Project Portfolio Management (PPM) and SAP Project System (PS) capabilities. The consultant works closely with business stakeholders to align project management processes with financial, operational, and strategic objectives.

Salary: 150,742 – 171,215 Annual Gross

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end implementations, rollouts, and enhancements for S/4HANA Embedded PPM and SAP PS
  • Gather and analyse business requirements related to project portfolio planning, project execution, cost control, and governance
  • Configure SAP PS components including Project Structures, WBS Elements, Networks, Activities, Milestones, and Budgeting
  • Configure Embedded PPM capabilities for portfolio prioritization, project demand management, resource planning, and portfolio monitoring
  • Facilitate business workshops and solution design sessions for project planning and project control processes
  • Enable integration with related SAP modules such as FICO, MM, SD, EAM, and HR/HCM/SuccessFactors
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cost planning, revenue planning, and project settlement processes
  • Support master data setup and migration for project definitions, WBS, networks, resources, and financial data
  • Drive reporting and analytics requirements for project performance, budget utilization, and portfolio dashboards
  • Support testing, defect resolution, UAT, go-live, and hyper care activities
  • Ensure compliance with governance, audit, and project controls requirements
  • Collaborate with technical teams for enhancements, interfaces, forms, workflows, and Fiori-based enablement

Technical Expertise Requirements

  • Business requirement documents (BRD) and functional specification documents (FS)
  • Solution design documents for Embedded PPM and SAP PS
  • Configuration and process documentation for portfolio and project execution processes
  • Project structure templates, budgeting models, and settlement design documents
  • Integration design documents with Finance, Procurement, Asset Management, and other connected processes
  • Data migration templates, validation results, and reconciliation outputs
  • Test scenarios, test scripts, defect logs, and test completion reports
  • User training materials, SOPs, and end-user documentation
  • Go-live readiness documents and post-go-live support plans
  • Reporting and analytics specifications for project and portfolio performance tracking

Essential

  • Strong experience in SAP S/4HANA Embedded PPM and SAP Project System (PS)
  • Proven experience in full lifecycle implementations, rollouts, or large-scale transformation programs
  • Deep understanding of project planning, budgeting, cost control, execution, and settlement processes
  • Hands-on expertise in WBS structures, networks, milestones, confirmations, billing, and settlement
  • Experience with portfolio management, project prioritization, demand management, and resource planning
  • Strong integration knowledge with FICO, MM, SD, EAM, and other project-driven business processes
  • Experience in project accounting, capex/opex tracking, and investment management-related processes
  • Familiarity with SAP Fiori apps and reporting tools for project and portfolio management
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Ability to lead workshops, translate business requirements into scalable SAP solutions, and support executive- level reporting needs

ADDITIONAL

  • Experience with Commercial Project Management or project-based services business models
  • Exposure to SAP Investment Management (IM) and project-driven capital expenditure processes
  • Knowledge of resource management, capacity planning, and cross-portfolio planning scenarios
  • Experience with integration to EAM for shutdown/turnaround or capital project scenarios
  • Familiarity with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Embedded Analytics, or dashboarding for project portfolio reporting
  • SAP certification in Project System, S/4HANA Project Management, or related areas
  • Experience in industries such as Engineering & Construction, Utilities, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, or Capital Projects
  • Familiarity with SAP Activate, Agile, and hybrid delivery methodologies
