Utility Manager

About the role

Lead Coonamble Shire Council’s water and sewer operations, managing a small team, plant operations, compliance, maintenance planning and asset improvements across essential regional infrastructure.

What you'll Lead

• Lead the Water and Sewer team day to day
• Manage water and sewer services, plant ops and service reliability
• Plan maintenance, servicing and capital improvement works
• Oversee water quality, health, safety and environmental compliance
• Build systems, manuals, reports, budgets and asset plans
• Manage contractors, risk, WHS and community service outcomes

Skills & Experience

• Qualifications in Water and Sewer, Engineering or a related field
• Experience in water, sewer, utilities, infrastructure or regulated operations
• Strong people leadership, planning and budget management skills
• Knowledge of WHS, compliance, water quality and plant operations
• Class P, P2 or C Licence, White Card and Australian working rights

Benefits

• Salary from $98,566.00 - $114,102.45 + Super with anticipated 4% Local Government (State) Award increase from 1 July 2026 to $102,507.60 - $118,665.40 + Super
• 9-day fortnight plus four weeks’ annual leave
