We are seeking a highly driven and hands-on Head of IT Operations – Solutions & Automation to lead the design, delivery, and continuous optimisation of technology solutions across IT Operations. This role is less about theory and more about achieving outcomes—combining deep technical expertise with the ability to collaborate across technical teams, senior leadership, and the wider business. Working closely with the EGM IT Operations & Security, you will translate strategy into practical, scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions, driving an automation-first mindset while fostering innovation, governance, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and embed an automation-first approach across IT Operations to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery
- Partner with senior technology leaders to translate strategic priorities into practical, high-impact solutions
- Drive adoption of modern technologies and innovative ways of working across infrastructure and security environments
- Design and deliver scalable, secure, and standardised solutions aligned with governance and compliance requirements
- Identify and implement automation opportunities (including M365 administration and cloud platforms)
- Monitor emerging technology trends and recommend improvements aligned to IT strategy
- Ensure consistent delivery with clear accountability for timelines, budgets, and outcomes
- Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and customer-focused outcomes across all technology initiatives
Qualifications
- 10+ years extensive experience across multiple organisations in technology leadership and technical roles, including ownership of enterprise solutions, digital transformation, automation initiatives, with demonstrated delivery of business outcomes
- Relevant cloud or architecture certifications welcomed.
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline is desirable
- Cloud & Platform – Azure certifications are required
- Proven experience in the automation and integration space with exposure to automation frameworks
- Proven ability to align technology solutions with business strategy and deliver measurable value
- Strong stakeholder engagement and executive communication capability, translating complex technology into business outcomes
- Sound understanding of security and data governance compliance and risk across enterprise technology environments highly desirable
- Hands-on design and delivery experience in a Microsoft environment
- Security-minded, with experience across IAM, SSO and secure-by-design principles
- You thrive in fast-moving, high-impact environments and know how to translate complex technical concepts for executives, engineers and business stakeholders alike
- Excellent communicator who builds trust quickly and influences cross-functional teams
