POSITION OVERVIEW
The Project Planner is responsible for developing and managing the construction program for a hyperscale data centre project, with a strong focus on MEP installation, commissioning, and systems integration. Working closely with the design and delivery team, the Project Planner establishes clear construction and commissioning sequences, maintains accurate and up-to-date programs, and supports the coordination of complex trade interfaces. The Project Planner provides a practical schedule that supports day-to-day construction activities, helps manage timeframes, and keeps the project on track.WHAT HICKORY CAN OFFER

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and maintain the project construction program from start to finish
- Work with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and consultants to align the program with site activities
- Update the program to reflect site progress, delays, and changes
- Identify critical activities and track key milestones against the program
- Highlight risks to the program and suggest solutions to reduce delays
- Prepare short-term lookahead programs to support site delivery
- Monitor labour, plant, and materials against the program
- Support the team with sequencing and planning of trades on site
- Assist with delay analysis and assess the impact of changes to the program
- Provide regular schedule updates and reports to the project team
- Ensure the program aligns with project requirements and safety standards
- Work across multiple packages or stages as required on the project
- Develop and maintain detailed programs for MEP installation, commissioning, and systems integration
- Align the construction program with key data centre milestones, including energisation, commissioning phases, IST, and client readiness
- Coordinate scheduling with commissioning agents, OEM vendors, and specialist subcontractors, including FAT and SAT activities
- Incorporate long-lead equipment procurement into the critical path and actively track delivery risks
- Develop staging and sectional handover programs to support progressive client access and early operational readiness
- Manage and monitor complex trade interfaces across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and controls packages
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years’ experience as a Project Planner within commercial construction
- Experience using Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar planning software
- Experience working on large-scale construction projects (data centre experience highly regarded)
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and site delivery
- Ability to work closely with site teams and manage competing priorities
