As part of our First Line Risk team, you’ll play a meaningful role in strengthening how our Retail Lending business operates, helping ensure we deliver responsibly, compliantly, and with confidence.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Retail Lending Risk Manager to join our team in Brisbane or Bundaberg. Reporting to the Head of First Line Risk – Customer, you’ll partner directly with our Retail Lending teams to uplift risk management practices, deliver assurance testing, and support regulatory and compliance outcomes. This is a highly collaborative role where you’ll work across multiple business units, helping to identify risks, improve controls, and embed a positive risk culture.

What Success Looks Like

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and support Line 1 assurance testing, including developing test scripts, assessing outcomes, and identifying improvements
  • Maintain and enhance key risk frameworks such as RCSA and critical operations
  • Translate complex regulatory and compliance requirements into practical business actions
  • Deliver clear and insightful reporting, using tools like Excel to analyse and present risk data effectively
  • Build strong relationships across Retail Lending, influencing leaders and stakeholders to drive accountability and uplift performance
  • Support the implementation of regulatory change and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Contribute to a strong risk culture through ongoing guidance, communication, and training

About You

You bring:

  • Strong lending knowledge within financial services
  • Proven experience in risk, compliance, or operational assurance
  • Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyse data and produce meaningful insights
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues, solve problems and drive outcomes
  • Understanding of financial services regulation (ASIC, APRA, AUSTRAC desirable)
