A well-established commercial joinery manufacturer is seeking an experienced Joinery Drafter to join their growing team.

Specialising in commercial fit-outs and bespoke joinery packages, this business delivers projects across workplace, hospitality, retail, education, healthcare, and other commercial sectors throughout Sydney.

We are specifically looking for someone who combines strong AutoCAD drafting skills with practical, hands-on joinery or cabinetmaking experience. Understanding how joinery is manufactured, assembled, and installed is essential, as the role requires producing drawings that are accurate, practical, and ready for production.

The Role

Working closely with Project Managers, Estimators, Factory Staff, and Installers, you will be responsible for producing detailed shop drawings and manufacturing documentation for commercial joinery projects.

Key Responsibilities

Produce detailed joinery shop drawings using AutoCAD
Prepare manufacturing and construction documentation
Interpret architectural and construction drawings
Develop detailed plans, elevations, sections, and joinery details
Liaise with project managers, production staff, suppliers, and site teams
Ensure drawings are practical, buildable, and aligned with project specifications
Assist with material take-offs and project documentation
Support projects throughout manufacture and installation

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Previous experience drafting within a commercial joinery environment
Strong proficiency using AutoCAD
Hands-on experience in cabinetmaking, joinery, carpentry, installation, or manufacturing
Solid understanding of commercial joinery construction methods
Ability to read and interpret architectural, construction, and fit-out documentation
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and organisational abilities
Ability to work effectively with both office and factory teams

Highly Regarded

Trade qualification in Cabinetmaking, Joinery, Carpentry, or similar
Experience delivering commercial fit-out projects
Understanding of manufacturing processes and installation requirements
Exposure to high-volume project environments
