An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated Emergency Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Transitional Nurse Practitioner (TNP) to join our dynamic Emergency Department (ED) team. This role provides advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients presenting to the Emergency Department, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment. On any given day, you will undertake clinical assessments; prescribe medications and initiate appropriate care plans; providing education, guidance and support to patients and their families; and manage a diverse caseload of low and high acuity presentations within the ED. If you are a highly skilled and motivated clinician with advanced experience in emergency or acute care settings, committed to delivering safe, evidence-based, and patient-focused care.

You won't be working alone. You will be supported by the Health Service Managers, as well as the emergency physicians, nursing colleagues, allied health professionals, and community providers, you will play a key role in improving patient outcomes, supporting patient flow, and contributing to service excellence. You will be required to travel between Wee Waa Community Hospital and Narrabri Hospital, so a willingness to travel is a must in this role.

Essential Requirements

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Current endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner, or
  • Transitional Nurse Practitioner working toward endorsement (temporary appointment up to 3 years may apply)
  • Eligibility to drive in NSW and willingness to travel as required
