We are seeking a proactive L1/L2 Engineer to support monitoring, fault management, and first-level problem resolution activities for telecom Signaling Transfer Point (STP) platforms, including Oracle and other vendor solutions. The role requires hands-on operational monitoring, alarm analysis, and basic troubleshooting using network management and command-line tools. The successful candidate will have foundational telecom signaling knowledge and the ability to perform initial diagnostics and recovery actions within a 24x7 operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor STP platforms (Oracle or other supplier platforms) for alarms, performance degradation, and service-impacting events.
  • Perform first-line troubleshooting and fault isolation for signaling and network-related issues.
  • Use HP TEMIP for alarm and fault management activities.
  • Utilize Grafana dashboards for network visibility, KPI monitoring, and trend analysis.
  • Use Nokia NAC tools for resolution workflows and operational support activities.
  • Access network platforms via MML and command-line interfaces to perform basic operational checks, diagnostics, and recovery actions.
  • Execute predefined troubleshooting procedures and corrective actions in accordance with operational runbooks and SOPs.
  • Escalate unresolved or critical incidents to L2/L3 support teams with detailed analysis and supporting logs.
  • Maintain accurate incident documentation, troubleshooting notes, and operational records within the ticketing system.
  • Support routine operational tasks, health checks, and maintenance activities.
  • Participate in shift rotations and provide support within a 24x7 network operations environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Basic understanding of telecom signaling networks and STP environments.
  • Familiarity with Oracle STP or other telecom vendor STP platforms.
  • Grafana monitoring dashboards
  • HP TEMIP fault management
  • Nokia NAC operational tools
  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting using MML commands and command-line platform access.
  • Understanding of alarm handling, incident management, and escalation processes.
  • Knowledge of telecom signaling protocols such as SS7 and SIGTRAN is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational support environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or telecom support environment.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix command-line environments.
  • Exposure to ITIL-based incident and problem management processes.
  • Experience supporting carrier-grade telecom infrastructure.
