An exciting opportunity exists to join the NSLHD District Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Team as the IPAC CNC for Ryde Hospital for 13months. Providing expertise, leadership and advice to help drive Infection Prevention and Control across the facilities.

Remuneration: $2,780.00 - $2,835.50 per week

Where you'll be working

This position will be based at Ryde Hospital, Eastwood.

Ryde Hospital is having an incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community.

The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more

Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely.

What You'll Be Doing

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) has a leadership role in guiding hospital staff in the understanding of Ministry of Health (MoH) policy and implementing risk management strategies to protect patients, healthcare workers, affiliated clients and carers from acquiring healthcare associated or occupational infections.

The CNC is a clinical expert who, through leadership, facilitates excellence in research based clinical practice, education, research and encourages professional development.

Candidates Will Need To Meet The Following Criteria

  • Registered Nurse/Midwife who has minimum 5 years full time post graduate experience with 3 years full time equivalent in the specialty field. In addition, the applicant must have an approved post graduate qualification (minimum Grad Diploma/Certificate level) or evidence of working towards Masters level qualification.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and meet deadlines, and commitment to quality improvement in line with the National Quality Standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both as a member of a multidisciplinary team and independently.
