Your impact

Jacobs is strengthening its position as a strategic partner to the resources sector, supporting clients through the next phase of growth characterised by decarbonisation, capital efficiency, critical minerals expansion, and digitally enabled operations.

As part of this momentum, we are seeking a Business Development Director to lead growth across the Mining & Resources market in Australia. This role will focus on deepening Tier 1 client relationships, shaping major pursuits, and positioning Jacobs to deliver integrated, programmatic solutions across complex portfolios.

This is a senior leadership role within our Resources sales team, focused on converting market opportunity into sustained, high‑value partnerships.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the ANZ Resources Market Executive Director, you will work closely with Growth and Sales leaders, delivery partners and our global network to

  • Drive strategic growth across iron ore, critical minerals and emerging commodities, with a strong focus on brownfield expansion and sustaining capital programs
  • Build, manage and convert a high-quality pipeline with mining clients, positioning Jacobs in long-term partner and program delivery roles
  • Lead major pursuits—developing differentiated win strategies and integrated solutions that respond to client priorities in decarbonisation, productivity and cost discipline
  • Strengthen executive-level relationships, acting as a trusted advisor across client organisations
  • Align commercial strategies across pursuits, ensuring disciplined risk management and competitive positioning
  • Connect global capability to local opportunity, leveraging Jacobs’ expertise in digital, energy transition, and asset optimisation
  • Anticipate market shifts, proactively positioning Jacobs against client investment cycles and portfolio strategies

Here's what you'll need

  • 10+ years’ experience in business development, sales or account leadership within the mining and resources sector
  • Strong, established relationships across Tier 1 mining clients in Australia, particularly in iron ore and/or critical minerals and rare earths metals
  • Demonstrated success leading complex pursuits and securing large-scale programs or frameworks
  • Commercially astute, with experience shaping deal strategies and navigating contractual environments
  • Ability to translate client challenges into integrated, multi-disciplinary solutions
  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, business or a related discipline
  • Genuine commitment to advancing sustainable, technology-enabled and future-ready mining systems
