About The Opportunity

Business Review Group (BRG) is supporting the Australian Submarine Agency (ASA) in identifying a Logistics Engineer (Level 3) to join the SSN-AUKUS Support Branch.

This opportunity will support the Support Systems Directorate in establishing the logistics and sustainment foundations required for Australia's future nuclear-powered submarine capability. Working within one of Defence's most significant and strategically important programs, the successful candidate will play a key role in developing support system frameworks, logistics strategies and sustainment planning activities that will underpin long-term capability outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Establishing the overarching logistics strategy for the program.
  • Defining the Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) framework that will guide industry partners in the development of support system deliverables.
  • Ensuring logistics and sustainment considerations are embedded early throughout the capability lifecycle.
  • Developing a coherent, evidence-based logistics support system to support future sustainment planning activities.
  • Ensuring support and maintenance obligations are clearly defined, validated and aligned with operational requirements.
  • Developing optimised maintenance strategies that reduce lifecycle cost and operational risk.
  • Supporting improved system dependability, availability and sustainability outcomes.
  • Providing clear, defensible support and maintenance solutions aligned with operational needs.
  • Working collaboratively with Commonwealth personnel, industry partners and key stakeholders to support program objectives.

Essential Skills & Experience

Candidates should demonstrate experience across some or all of the following areas:

  • Integrated Logistics Support (ILS)
  • Logistics Support Analysis (LSA)
  • Logistics Engineering
  • Sustainment Planning
  • Supportability Engineering
  • Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) Analysis
  • Maintenance Planning and Support System Development
  • Defence Capability Acquisition and Sustainment
  • Stakeholder Engagement within complex Defence environments
  • Development of logistics strategies, support concepts and sustainment frameworks

Highly Desirable

Experience supporting major Defence capability programs within:

  • Maritime
  • Submarine
  • Naval Shipbuilding
  • CASG
  • Australian Submarine Agency
  • Defence Industry Prime environments

Experience with:

  • Integrated Logistics Support Plans (ILSP)
  • Through-Life Support Planning
  • Systems Engineering
  • Defence Capability Lifecycle Management
  • One Defence Capability System (ODCS) will be highly regarded.

Qualifications

Relevant tertiary qualifications in:
