Role Description/Criteria The main responsibilities of the role include: 1. Learning & Teaching - lead small group instruction, adapt lessons under teacher guidance:

  • Work with students on a one to one basis or in a small class group.
  • Work with students who have additional needs/identified learning difficulties;
  • Assist with the administrative duties associated with classroom activities.
  • Collect data for analysis by teachers and student support
  • Assist with the collection, preparation and distribution of support materials.
  • Communication – feedback to teachers and students:
  • Assist with the communication between students and teachers.
  • Liaise with classroom teachers regarding performance, work habits and behaviour of supported students.
  • Skills/Professional Learning – implementation of evidence-based learning intervention.
  • Provide physical, emotional/social and academic support for students;
  • Act as an advocate for supported students as required.

The successful applicant will demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Qualifications e.g. Certificate 3 in Education Support/Integration Aide (or equivalent) is required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the pastoral care needs of boys in a Catholic secondary school for boys.
  • Experience within a Catholic educational environment.
  • Demonstrated administrative and organisational skills.
  • Current Working with Children Check and a National Police History Check.
