MacKellar is seeking an experienced Production Leading Hand to join our established mining operation. Working alongside Supervisors and production teams, you'll play a key role in maintaining safe, productive and efficient mining activities while helping develop and support operators across site.

About the Role

As a Production Leading Hand, you'll provide day-to-day guidance to operators while supporting the coordination of mining activities across the shift. This position is ideal for someone with strong operational knowledge who enjoys leading by example and working closely with crews in the field.

Your Responsibilities

• Support the safe and efficient execution of daily production activities
• Provide on-shift leadership, coaching and direction to mining crews
• Assist with coordinating equipment allocation and operational priorities
• Promote and reinforce site safety standards and procedures
• Participate in pre-start meetings, shift handovers and toolbox talks
• Monitor work areas and identify opportunities to improve productivity
• Assist with managing shift performance and addressing operational issues
• Complete operational documentation and reporting requirements
• Foster a positive, accountable and team-focused work environment

What You'll Bring

• Previous experience within open-cut mining operations
• Proven capability working in a leadership, leading hand or supervisory capacity
• Strong understanding of production mining processes and equipment
• A proactive approach to safety and risk management
• Sound communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to build strong working relationships across crews and site leadership
• Commitment to achieving production outcomes while maintaining safe work practices
