About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable officer to join our supportive team in Smithfield on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Reporting to the Accounts Payable Team Leader you will manage end-to-end accounts payable functions for critical and high-volume suppliers. Operating in a fast-paced environment, you will ensure all invoices are processed, coded, and approved accurately within tight weekly and monthly payment deadlines, preventing any supplier accounts from going on hold.
Your exceptional relationship building skills, attention to detail and ability to partner across all areas the business, will ensure your success and ours!
What will you do
Efficiently process 50–70 invoices per day and reconcile supplier statements to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Managing internal and external stakeholder inquiries via a shared AP email inbox and phone queries
Acts as the primary contact for vendors, resolving invoice discrepancies, payment queries, and service issues while maintaining professional relationships
Overseeing critical major accounts to guarantee timely approvals and coding.
Assisting with the preparation and execution of scheduled weekly and monthly payment runs.
Take personal responsibility for accurate completion of work and seek assistance when required.
Remain positive and respond to pressure in a calm manner whilst sharing information to ensure others are kept informed of issues.
Suggest methods to improve efficiency and service to both internal and external stakeholders.
About you
Minimum of 2 to 3 years of dedicated Accounts Payable experience
Prior hands-on experience using SAP or similar large-scale ERP software is highly advantageous.
Proven capability to handle high-volume data entry efficiently without compromising on attention to detail.
Availability to start before July 20, 2026, and commit to the full 12-month tenure is highly advantageous.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service approach to managing vendor queries.
Demonstrated team player with a collaborative style who is positive, resilient and wants to work in a team that likes to have some fun.
Excellent time management and coordination skills with a sense of urgency, results focussed, with high attention to detail and analytical mindset
You have a can-do attitude, are flexible, adaptable and always have the customer at the forefront of everything you do!
