PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Assist in the assessment and operation of the Northern Territory electricity system and market to ensure secure, reliable, efficient, and safe
outcomes. Apply professional engineering analysis and provide operational support to forecasting and dispatch functions. Contribute to the
development and continuous improvement of operational tools, processes and assist in the preparation and publication of operational
documentation, including industry consultation materials and market operation reports. Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, Technical
Codes, procedures, and system control operational requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The “WHAT” to be delivered
- Utilising extensive experience and knowledge on multiple electrical engineering fields (i.e. Generation, Transmission, Distribution, Asset
Management, Protection, Control Systems) in contributing to the development and review of technical envelope of Northern Territory power
systems in response to Code Participants advice, while ensuring compliance with various Technical Codes and Legislation in the Northern
Territory.
- Produce a range of reporting including demand forecast reports, adequacy reports for supply demand balance, power system incidents
reports, compliance reports, and power system connection reports as per various Technical Code requirements.
- Maintain and enhance operational forecasting tools and power system models, and apply in-house analytical models to evaluate reserve
adequacy, firming requirements, and the interaction with key system security parameters, including rate of change of frequency, contingency
conditions, and overall supply adequacy.
- Act as the subject matter expert representing the Forecasting and Dispatch team in electricity reform initiatives and projects, providing
technical advice to ensure alignment with operational requirements, market frameworks, and system security objectives.
- Managing minor and major electrical engineering projects. This includes developing project documentations, highlight/update reports and
business cases and conducting project planning, resource allocation and stakeholder management.

forecasting), with proficiency in Python, R, Java, or
MATLAB.
- Experience in the operation and impacts of protection
and control schemes employed in HV and EHV
networks.
- Demonstrate experience in engineering Project
Management, Stakeholder Management and project
documentation/planning.
