What We Are Looking For

The Head of IT is responsible for leading Airlock Digital’s internal IT function and ensuring the business has reliable, secure and well-managed technology operations that support our people and continued growth. This role will lead a small IT team and own the delivery of internal IT services across employee support, user access management, device management, business systems administration, IT service delivery, vendor management and operational governance. This role is responsible for building internal IT capability, improving processes, lifting service quality and ensuring IT operations run smoothly across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading, coaching and developing a small internal IT team.
  • Owning internal IT service delivery and support operations.
  • Ensuring employees have the systems, devices, access and support required to work effectively.
  • Managing user lifecycle processes, including onboarding, role changes and offboarding.
  • Overseeing IT assets, endpoint management, software licensing and internal business systems.
  • Managing technology vendors, suppliers and outsourced service providers.
  • Establishing practical IT governance, service standards, policies and operational processes.
  • Supporting security, compliance, access control and audit requirements.
  • Leading and contributing to internal IT projects, planning and budgeting activities.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve service quality, efficiency, resilience and scalability.
  • Significant experience in IT operations, IT service delivery, systems administration or internal technology management.
  • Proven experience leading, managing or developing IT support or IT operations staff.
  • Strong understanding of internal IT service delivery, help desk operations, endpoint management and business systems administration.
  • Experience managing identity, access, user lifecycle and employee onboarding/offboarding processes.
  • Practical experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and related business platforms.
  • Experience managing IT vendors, suppliers, licensing, procurement and service providers.
  • Strong understanding of IT governance, operational risk, security practices and access control.
  • Experience improving IT processes, documentation, support models and service standards.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across operational support, projects and business-as-usual activity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with executives, managers, technical teams and end users.
  • Ability to think strategically while remaining pragmatic and delivery-focused.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in a SaaS, cybersecurity, software or technology business.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, Defender for Endpoint or similar endpoint management platforms.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices, particularly incident, request, change, asset and service management.
  • Familiarity with security or compliance frameworks such as Essential Eight, NIST CSF, ISO 27001 or SOC 2.
  • Experience supporting audit, compliance or customer assurance activities.
  • Experience managing IT budgets, renewals, contracts or annual technology planning.
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, ITIL, CompTIA, security or cloud certifications.
  • A tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related discipline is beneficial but not essential. Equivalent practical experience will be highly regarded.
