Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Network & Security Engineer to support and enhance our enterprise infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of critical systems, keeping them operational and resilient.
The ideal candidate is a well-rounded infrastructure generalist with strong cyber security operations experience, capable of quickly stepping into an existing environment, taking ownership of BAU operations, and delivering immediate value with minimal handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and support enterprise ICT infrastructure across network, server, and cloud environments
- Ensure high levels of availability, performance, and security of systems
- Proactively monitor infrastructure and security events, identifying and resolving issues
- Respond to and manage security incidents and operational alerts
- Triage and investigate SOC alerts, including log analysis and threat identification
- Execute remediation actions across endpoint, network, and cloud environments
- Administer and support core Microsoft environments, including:
- Microsoft 365 (including security capabilities such as Defender)
- Active Directory (on-premises and hybrid)
- Windows Server platforms
- Network (LAN/WAN, firewalls, switching, wireless)
- Virtualisation platforms (e.g., VMware)
- Backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam)
- Maintain and regularly test backup and disaster recovery processes
- Contribute to business continuity and resilience planning
- Document system configurations, procedures, and security processes
- Collaborate with internal teams, service desk, and external vendors as required
Skills & Experience
- Enterprise networking (LAN/WAN, firewalls, switching, wireless)
- Server and cloud environments
- Proven expertise in the Microsoft ecosystem, including:
- Microsoft 365 (including Defender and security tooling)
- Active Directory (hybrid environments)
- Windows Server
- Solid background in cyber security operations, including:
- Incident response
- Threat detection and remediation
- Experience working with SOC tools and processes, including:
- SIEM platforms
- Microsoft Defender / endpoint security tools
- Log analysis and alert triage
- Vulnerability scanning tools
- Network and infrastructure monitoring solutions
- Virtualisation (VMware or similar)
- Backup & Disaster Recovery platforms (Veeam preferred)
